With more than 25 years of experience performing freshwater ecological research, Dr. Cole leads Cole Ecological, Inc. His primary areas of interest and expertise are macroinvertebrate ecology and taxonomy, bioassessment of rivers and streams, effects of disturbance on aquatic ecosystems, and integrated approaches to monitoring the condi

  

With more than 25 years of experience performing freshwater ecological research, Dr. Cole leads Cole Ecological, Inc. His primary areas of interest and expertise are macroinvertebrate ecology and taxonomy, bioassessment of rivers and streams, effects of disturbance on aquatic ecosystems, and integrated approaches to monitoring the condition of running waters. Dr. Cole has led investigations of ecological responses to modified flow regimes, dam removal, floods, drought, suspected point-source discharges and other anthropogenic and natural disruptions to rivers and streams. 

Dr. Cole is also lead taxonomist for Cole Ecological, performing most of the firm’s macroinvertebrate identification work. An SFS-certified taxonomist, Dr. Cole has more than 25 years of experience identifying macroinvertebrates from freshwaters across North America.

Dr. Abbott is an aquatic scientist and taxonomist for Cole Ecological, Inc. with 12 years of experience performing aquatic ecological research and monitoring. Her primary areas of interest and expertise are ecological responses to aquatic restoration (e.g., dam/culvert removal, wetland restoration), water quality monitoring, and bioasse

  

Dr. Abbott is an aquatic scientist and taxonomist for Cole Ecological, Inc. with 12 years of experience performing aquatic ecological research and monitoring. Her primary areas of interest and expertise are ecological responses to aquatic restoration (e.g., dam/culvert removal, wetland restoration), water quality monitoring, and bioassessment of rivers and streams. She has led investigations of ecological responses to wetland restorations and dam removals and has experience with a wide range of freshwater ecological monitoring approaches. Dr. Abbott is proficient in all facets of applied aquatic ecology research, including study design, data collection, data management, analysis, and publication.   Dr. Abbott is an SFS-certified taxonomist.

Ann Gregoire, M.S.

 Ms. Gregoire, an SFS-certified taxonomist, has been performing professional macroinvertebrate taxonomic work for the last 22 years.  Ms. Gregoire has performed project taxonomy and quality control taxonomy on projects from across the United States, with an emphasis on the northeast and northwest regions of the country. Prior to her last 

 Ms. Gregoire, an SFS-certified taxonomist, has been performing professional macroinvertebrate taxonomic work for the last 22 years.  Ms. Gregoire has performed project taxonomy and quality control taxonomy on projects from across the United States, with an emphasis on the northeast and northwest regions of the country. Prior to her last nineteen years working with Dr. Cole, Ms. Gregoire was an independent contractor who provided taxonomic services to a wide range of clients.
